This is your chance to contribute to the future of Queensland's rail network by delivering innovative solutions that enhance connectivity, sustainability, and customer outcomes. In this role, you will work on a diverse portfolio of projects, including planning for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Your expertise in rail operations, modelling, scheduling, and data analysis will help shape the state's short to medium term rail investment strategy. You'll be instrumental in identifying emerging travel needs, analysing operational data, and developing strategies that balance customer demands with rail system constraints.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Undertake rail infrastructure and operational modelling and assurance across an integrated portfolio of projects.
  • Assessment and collation of the technical outputs of major rail planning projects and events, such as the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to understand the impacts and benefits for our customers.
  • Analysis of operational data to support development of conceptual operational and infrastructure states
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop innovative rail operations modelling approaches that inform planning for new rail infrastructure, service improvements, and timetable changes across the network.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Relevant experience or qualifications in rail operations, transport planning, or infrastructure modelling.
  • Skills in data analysis, microsimulation, and visualisation to support decision making.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of preparing technical reports for diverse audiences.
  • A track record of building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Ideas about delivering innovative solutions that align with government priorities and customer needs.

What we offer:

TMR offers a compelling employee value proposition, including:

  • Work-life balance, with flexible working arrangements, including working from home options.
  • A central Brisbane location, close to Central Station and public transport.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment, with strong investment in training, development, and support.
  • Attractive employment conditions, including generous leave provisions and superannuation.

You will be part of:

  • An organisation that connects Queensland, delivering integrated transport networks that support economic growth and liveable communities.
  • A branch with state-wide influence, responsible for setting the long-term strategic direction for Queensland's rail network.
  • A department with purpose, contributing to the well-being, safety, and connectivity of communities across the state.
  • An employer that values your expertise, encourages professional growth, and supports you to excel in your chosen field.

Role requirements:

  • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
  • It is a condition of employment for recommended appointee/s to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.

We recognise and celebrate that everyone is unique and seek the applicant best suited to the role. We will assess your experience, knowledge, and acquired skills, as well as your potential for development and your personal qualities.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
