As Director (Operations), you will be a key member of the Queensland Operations leadership team, partnering closely with the General Manager to drive organisational performance, strategic planning, operational excellence and transformational change.

It will also lead the work of the Directorate, ensuring strong governance, planning, operational effectiveness and delivery across Queensland Operations.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity that will help shape the future impact Trade and Investment Queensland has with Queensland businesses.

About the Team/Organisation
Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) is the Queensland Government's dedicated global business agency. Through a network of more than 280 staff across Queensland and international markets, we help Queensland businesses grow through trade, investment, international education and major events opportunities.

The Queensland Operations Division is responsible for TIQ's engagement with exporters and investors in Queensland, through its team based in Brisbane and across eight regional Queensland offices.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, Queensland Operations, the Director (Operations) is a trusted strategic partner and operational leader responsible for driving organisational performance, business improvement and strategic capability across the division.

Key responsibilities include leading organisational improvement and transformation, providing strategic advice, driving business planning and performance reporting, leading complex programs, overseeing client engagement strategy and CRM adoption, building a high performing team, and strengthening governance and stakeholder relationships

Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience leading business operations and organisational performance functions within complex environments, with the ability to balance strategic priorities, operational delivery, governance requirements and stakeholder expectations. Experience applying operational leadership across both public sector and commercial environments will be highly regarded.
• Experience leading organisational improvement, business transformation or performance improvement initiatives in complex environments.
• Strong program and project management capability with a track record of delivering strategic outcomes.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and provide advice to senior leaders.
• Strong analytical skills and evidence-based decision-making capability.
• Experience leading governance, business planning, executive reporting and ministerial briefing processes.
• Proven people leadership experience.
