About the opportunity
The Nurse Practitioner – Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV and Hepatitis will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in an advanced clinical role based at the Townsville Sexual Health Service. They will provide comprehensive assessment and management of clients using advanced nursing expertise in sexual and reproductive health and blood‑borne viruses.
This position encompasses the management of complex client presentations, coordination of referrals to and from other health professionals, prescribing of medications, and ordering of diagnostic investigations within the defined scope of practice. The Nurse Practitioner - Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV and Hepatitis will also serve as a clinical resource for practitioners in both public and private settings and act as a mentor to clinical nurses, medical officers, and Aboriginal and Islander Health Workers.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a permanent full-time role, working Monday - Friday.

Role requirements
- Qualification: Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- A Nurse Practitioner will be required to complete THHS credentialing:
- Upon commencement of their role, and
- Every 3 years.
- Driver Licence: This position requires the applicant to possess an appropriate license to operate a Class C (car) motor vehicle.
- Travel: This position may be required to travel to (via small planes or ferry), and work at, other facilities located within the THHS, e.g., participate in clinical activities or meetings for planning, quality, performance and education. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. The successful applicant must be able to commit to this requirement.

- Salary range: $6069.30 - $6336.70 p.f. (NG8)
- 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
