Senior Analyst

The Senior Analyst (Planning and Performance) leads the development and delivery of performance reporting, data management and planning initiatives that support departmental objectives and continuous improvement. The role works closely with regional executives, directors and central office stakeholders to establish and maintain information systems, undertake complex analysis, and present statistical and performance data to inform decision-making. Key responsibilities include researching and analysing demographic, socio-economic and human services data, coordinating strategic and operational planning processes, producing high-quality performance reports, and identifying trends and issues affecting service delivery. The Senior Analyst also promotes data quality, information management and evidence-based practices to enhance regional planning, performance outcomes and service effectiveness.

The role of the Senior Analyst is to promote and facilitate delivery of departmental objectives and continuous improvement, as the Senior Analyst (Planning and Performance) you will:
1. Take the lead role in consulting with the Regional Executive Director, Regional Director, Directors and relevant central office stakeholders around performance information to establish and maintain data management information systems, and to undertake high level analysis, provide and present statistical and other information through high-quality pictorial representation for internal and external stakeholders.
2. Take the lead role in the detailed research and analysis of demographic, socio-economic and human services data to inform regional decision making.
3. Co-ordinate regional strategic and operational planning processes.
4. Produce high-quality regional performance reports and undertake thorough and comprehensive research and analysis of data to identify trends and issues to support regional planning and service delivery.
5. Promote and improve data quality and information management practices across the region.
Your responsibilities
As a Senior Analyst you will:
• Develop, implement and maintain a range of data management information systems, processes and procedures for high level performance reporting and thorough analysis of regional performance and statistical data.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality performance measurement and reporting frameworks that meet the long-term requirements of the department.
• Review, identify and analyse systemic trends and issues using data and local performance information from a variety of sources, and provide high level, comprehensive and authoritative advice with recommendations of appropriate strategies to resolve performance issues within the region.
• Contribute to strategic and operational planning, providing high-quality reporting, data management and extraction from consistent and accurate sources.
• Collect and provide operational performance data and high-level analysis as required for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support staff to understand and use demographic, socio-economic, human services and performance data so that it contributes to effective planning and service delivery.
• Foster an innovative work environment focussed on continuous improvement through the identification and implementation of business, process and technological improvement initiatives.
• Use strong interpersonal communication skills to negotiate, establish and maintain constructive networks and working relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders.
• Liaise and consult with relevant key staff to promote and implement data quality improvement strategies and monitor and maintain these strategies to ensure the highest level of data quality, accessibility and security.
• Provide supervision and support to staff in the Performance and Planning team.
• Manage other comprehensive projects as required or requested.
