About us:
We're the Quality Improvement Team, helping make great care even better across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
We use clinical data, audits, incidents, consumer feedback and emerging trends to spot opportunities, turn insights into action, and support better decisions.
We work alongside teams to improve patient safety, strengthen clinical practice and build a culture where continuous improvement is everyone's business.
From education and improvement projects to sharing lessons learned, we help turn good ideas into sustainable, high-quality care.
About the role:
The Quality Improvement Officer helps turn quality standards into everyday practice across CQ Health. The role supports teams to meet NSQHS Standards, use data and reporting to spot opportunities, and turn insights into practical improvements.
You'll also help keep things moving behind the scenes — preparing reports and resources, connecting with stakeholders, supporting learning and training, and helping teams improve their processes, systems and ways of working.
About you:
- Qualifications and Knowledge: A relevant tertiary qualification isn't essential, but it would be highly regarded. We're looking for someone who brings curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an understanding of quality improvement, healthcare or related practices.
- Safe and Person-Centred Care: Help teams deliver safe, high-quality care by supporting effective planning, coordination and decision-making. You'll use your knowledge and skills to keep the person at the centre and help turn good practice into great outcomes.
- Systems, Safety and Teamwork: Support compliance with standards and clinical governance processes, contribute to policy and procedure reviews, and work with colleagues and stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve problems and strengthen safe practice. Great communication and collaboration are key!
- Learning, Quality and Innovation: Keep growing your own skills while helping others build their capability. You'll contribute to education, audits, quality improvement and evidence-based practice — bringing fresh ideas and helping turn them into practical improvements that make a difference.
