You will:

  • Deliver specialist gastroenterology care: Manage inpatient and outpatient services for people with inflammatory bowel disease and general gastroenterological disorders across Redland Hospital and other Metro South Health facilities.
  • Lead and shape IBD services: Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary IBD team, working closely with IBD Clinical Nurse Consultants to enhance patient care and service delivery.

  • Drive service development and clinical excellence: Contribute to service expansion, quality improvement, clinical audits, education and research while supporting the professional development of junior medical staff and the wider healthcare team.

About you:

You are an experienced and patient-focused gastroenterologist with a strong interest in inflammatory bowel disease, a commitment to clinical excellence and the leadership skills to contribute to the ongoing development of specialist services. To be successful, you will:

  • Bring specialist expertise: Hold an MBBS or equivalent, FRACP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and be eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA as a gastroenterologist.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical capability: Have recognised accreditation, or meet the requirements for accreditation, in gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy, with demonstrated experience managing IBD, including advanced therapies such as biologics and small molecules.
  • Lead and collaborate effectively: Work confidently within multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly with patients and families, and provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to colleagues.
  • Champion quality and continuous improvement: Demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, clinical audit, education and ongoing professional development, underpinned by integrity, compassion and respect.
