Childers is located almost halfway between Maryborough and Bundaberg on the Bruce Highway. The school was established in 1888, although it was moved to the new buildings at its current site in 1987.

Enrolments vary around the level of 320 children. In 2017 there are 13 classes from prep to year six. We enjoy the expertise of music, physical education, digital technology and German teachers. A Special Education Unit operates from the school.

Your opportunity:

As Principal, you will lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. You will set high standards for student and staff performance and promote a culture of accountability, reflection and professional development. You will encourage staff to participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development, supporting the continued development of teaching and leadership practice.

You will uphold the principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral activity, demonstrating integrity and sound judgement in your leadership and decision-making. You will model high standards of professional conduct and foster trust, respect and shared responsibility across the school community.

Embedding socially just practices in daily school life will be central to your leadership. You will ensure equity and fairness are reflected in the school's practices, policies and interactions, while supporting an environment that respects the diverse needs and contributions of students, staff and the wider community.
