About Moranbah and Moranbah Hospital

Moranbah is a thriving, family-friendly regional community in the heart of Queensland's Bowen Basin, approximately 200 km west of Mackay. The town offers a strong community spirit, excellent sporting and recreational facilities, and a diverse range of employment opportunities for partners across health, education, mining, business, trades and professional services.

Moranbah Hospital provides a broad scope of rural health services to the Isaac Region and is supported by the wider Mackay HHS. The hospital operates a 24-hour ED and provides inpatient, outpatient and community services. The new Moranbah Hospital provides a modern clinical environment and is equipped with CT imaging, supporting the delivery of high-quality acute and emergency care locally.

The Rural Generalist role offers clinical variety, professional autonomy and the opportunity to develop a broad rural skill set, with access to specialist support through Mackay Base Hospital and the wider HHS network. There is also the opportunity to work across primary care in Moranbah and, where desired, support neighbouring communities such as Clermont and Dysart, providing the opportunity to practise the full Rural Generalist model across hospital, emergency and primary care settings.

An ED25 loading is available to eligible SMOs who meet the relevant entitlement criteria, providing an opportunity for highly competitive remuneration in addition to the lifestyle benefits of regional Queensland. Moranbah also offers convenient air connections to Brisbane

Moranbah offers the opportunity to build a rewarding Rural Generalist career while enjoying excellent remuneration, modern facilities, strong community connection and a great regional lifestyle.
