About us:
The Gladstone Integrated Service is here to support the mental health and wellbeing of people in Gladstone and surrounding communities.
Our services include Adult and Child and Youth Mental Health, our Step-Up-Step-Down Unit, and Alcohol and Other Drugs Services. We provide personalised support through assessments, treatment, case management and referrals.
Working together with local health and community services, we're here to help people feel supported, build resilience and take positive steps towards recovery.
About the role:
- Make a real difference. Deliver high-quality, discipline-specific mental health care through assessments, risk assessments, triage, care planning and therapeutic interventions. Support consumers to work towards their goals, build on their strengths and take positive steps towards recovery.
- Keep learning and growing. Build your clinical knowledge and confidence through hands-on experience, professional development, peer learning and regular clinical supervision. We're all about growing together and providing the best possible care!
- Teamwork makes the dream work. Work collaboratively with consumers, carers, colleagues and community partners to deliver flexible, person-centred support. Get involved in multidisciplinary teamwork, outreach to surrounding teams and extended-hour services to help ensure consumers receive the care they need.
- Share your knowledge and make an impact. Contribute to service improvement by collecting clinical data, monitoring outcomes and identifying opportunities to improve care. Support students and less experienced staff with everyday clinical tasks, sharing your knowledge while continuing to learn from the team.
About you:
- You're a registered nurse with current AHPRA registration and, ideally, eligibility to become an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Queensland Mental Health Act 2016.
- Have the skills and knowledge to support people experiencing complex mental health challenges, including conducting risk assessments and triage, with an understanding of relevant legislation and national mental health standards.
- Bring strong communication and therapeutic skills, build positive relationships with consumers and colleagues, and thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Can manage competing priorities, deliver quality adult mental health care and share your knowledge with others. You're also keen to support and educate colleagues while continuing to develop your own clinical skills.
