The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist (Mental Health - Orchid Inpatient Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide an efficient and responsive mental health Occupational Therapy service within identified models of care and in accordance with professional, ethical and National Mental Health standards
  • Utilise knowledge of Occupational theories and frameworks in understanding the occupational and functional impact of mental illness, to assist consumers, carers and their families
  • Undertake routine psychosocial, functional, sensory and cognitive assessments
  • Apply professional judgement to facilitate effective clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence across multiple clinical areas.

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time 
  • Base salary ranging from $76 747 - $112 805 per annum
