Intelligence Adviser


Woodford Correctional Centre; Custodial Operations; Statewide Operations; Woodford

Develop intelligence plan including collection plan and operational actions plan
Consult a wide range of stakeholders in order to conduct intelligence assessments and brief various elements of management and senior management on issues relating to security and intelligence
Liaise with the General Manager, QCS Intelligence Group in Central Office as well as external security agencies on behalf of the General Manager
Develop and plan specific operations within the correctional environment
Record analysis in QCS Intelligence System. Manage the security and confidentiality of records and information
Develop operational and tactical hypotheses regarding security risk issues within correctional centre

  • Knowledge and understanding of the intelligence discipline on matters which affect the security and good order of the correctional environment will be highly regarded
  • Experience working with sensitive information will be highly regarded
  • Superior capability in the use of information management systems will be highly regarded
  • Ability to analyse, design and evaluate intelligence systems and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of intelligence planning, processes and products
  • Preparation of complex reports and submissions
  • High level of oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good interviewing techniques with particular emphasis on Human source management
  • High competence level in operating Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and the ability to construct complex spreadsheets and charts using Microsoft Excel
  • Sound knowledge of principles of crime scene management
