Yeppoon State High School is seeking passionate and motivated individual
to join our amazing team as Teacher Aide to start on 23 January 2025 on a permanent part-time basis, at 0.58 F TE and 44.5 hours per fortnight. Specifically, this role is targeted to support our dynamic Hospitality department. The Teacher Aide must be able to work at least 4 days/week for
22.25 school hours a week plus additional time (2.75hrs) relative to the Standard Job Model.

About the Role
The main aim of the position is to support teaching staff to provide every opportunity to deliver high quality, authentic learning experiences to students within the subject area, while complying with workplace health and safety and food safety requirements.
The role requires a dynamic person who works well in a team environment, while being able to apply industry knowledge and skills on an individual basis. More specifically, the Food Technologies / Hospitality Teacher Aide co-ordinates the efficient and effective supply of ingredients and equipment for practical cookery lessons, collation of food lists, purchasing, preparation and storage of materials. This is achieved by liaising with the Head of Department for Technologies and all Food Technologies / Hospitality teaching staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher.
- Assisting in preparing, storing, making available and clearing away teaching equipment and materials.
- Assisting teaching staff with playground and bus supervision.
- Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students including the delivery of first aid. Where the teacher aide is required to administer first aid, the teacher aide would be required to be formally trained in the administration of first aid, and keep such qualifications current. All costs associated with obtaining and maintaining qualifications would be met from school funds.
- Assisting students with special needs, this may in certain circumstances extend to moving disabled pupils, assisting with positioning, assisting with meals, toileting and dressing of pupils unable to care for themselves. Suitable training is essential.
