This role will plan, develop, coordinate and deliver a broad range of activities to support internal and external engagement and delivery plans across key
departmental priority areas. You will provide high quality support to the Manager, First Nations Engagement, in delivering and reporting on Infrastructure Management and Delivery's activities and priorities in relation to the department's Indigenous Strategy Roadmap and Action Plan.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing, coordinating and reviewing briefing notes, submissions, reports, project plans and correspondence.
• Providing high quality and timely advice and analysis to Senior and Executive Management on First Nations engagement and participation issues and opportunities.
• Supporting internal teams with the development of briefing papers, policy documents and intra-departmental communication tools and resources.
• Leading the development and management of reporting systems and tools, document management, guidelines and policies to ensure the First Nations
Engagement team meet departmental and legislative requirements.
• Supporting the delivery of key projects and initiatives related to First Nations Engagement.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Queensland Drivers licence required for the role as intrastate travel will be required.
To perform the role effectively you will demonstrate proactive and responsive support, people management and team management as well as interface regularly with various colleagues, clients and stakeholders both within TMR, other government agencies and private industry. You will employ high level communication as well as sound negotiation and organisational skills.
