Senior Practice Officer (Child Safe Organisations)

As Senior Practice Officer, you will contribute to the development, coordination and implementation of safeguarding policies and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with the Child Safe Organisation Act 2024 (CSOA). Your work will strengthen organisational practices, enhance service delivery, and uphold the safety and rights of vulnerable clients.

The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) is an independent statutory office established to protect the rights and interests of adults with impaired decisionmaking capacity, and children and young people in the child protection system and other visitable sites.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to support compliance with Child Safe Standards, the Universal Principle, and the Reportable Conduct Scheme to contribute to protecting the rights, wellbeing and interests of children, and vulnerable adults in Queensland.
- Review and update governance and risk management strategies to ensure alignment with CSOA (2024) requirements.
- Provide advice on safeguarding policies, legislative compliance, and practice to enhance organisational performance and service delivery.
- Build positive and enduring relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, to support the implementation of the CSOA (2024) and advocacy for vulnerable clients.
- Contribute to a positive, healthy, and inclusive workplace that prioritises ethics, accountability, trauma-informed practice, and respect for client privacy and confidentiality.
