Multiple permanent and temporary positions are now available across the North West. Opportunities include both town-based and outreach settings, delivering continuity of care as well as core midwifery services.

The North West Hospital Maternity Unit is the referral centre for all pregnant women in the region and for a small Northern Territory community. It provides care to women and their families within its Antenatal service, Antenatal/Postnatal Inpatient Unit, Birthing Unit, Special Care Nursery and Home Visiting program.

What we can offer

    • Staff accommodation (if eligible) or a private rental subsidy of AUD$82.50 per week for up to 17 months.
    • Appointment and transfer expenses (conditions apply) - Ask us about Relocation Support.
    • Isolation bonus (pro rata) - the longer you stay, the more you earn:
      • After 1 year: AUD $3,605,
      • After 2 years: AUD $10,815,
      • Each and every year after 3 years: AUD $7,210.
    • Return airfares - Including spouse/dependents to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave:
      • Full time employees: 2 return airfares per annum
      • Part time employees: 1 return airfare per annum
    • Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

Requirements

  • Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences as a Registered Midwife.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
