About us:
The Cancer Ambulatory Service has:
- A 16-chair/bed Day Therapy Unit that provides chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive therapies to patients with a diagnosis of cancer.
- A 10-room outpatient clinic area delivering care to patients with a diagnosis of cancer as well as patients requiring palliative care.
- A specialised pharmacy dedicated to the specific cohort of patients within this service.
- A specialised Allied Health team.
- Dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNC's) who deliver care to the specific cohort within this service.
Cohort of clients:
- Medical Oncology
- Haematology
- Radiation Oncology
- Specialist Palliative Care
About the role:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding in areas pertinent to haematology, radiation oncology and medical oncology nursing.
- Maintain a high level of practical skills required for the provision of treatment delivery within Diagnostic Treatment Units (DTU).
- Demonstrate a sound level of contemporary educational knowledge and skills that support the delivery of evidence based clinical education and training activities.
- Able to apply adult teaching and learning principles to clinical education and training initiatives.
- Demonstrate accurate record keeping of staff competencies and education participation.
- Display a high level of interpersonal and communication skills that support the planning, delivery and evaluation of cancer care clinical education and training for nursing staff.
- Implement and comply with procedures, policies, regulations, and standards which impact upon the position including contemporary Human Resource Management requirements and practices, Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Anti-discrimination policies.
About you:
- Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $5,495 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
