About us:
Social Workers recognise the impact of the socioeconomic, cultural, psychological and political determinants on a person's health and overall wellbeing. Social work focuses on enhancing a person's social and emotional functioning through targeted specialised interventions and mobilising services and supports.
Our social workers work in hospital and community facilities across Gladstone, Biloela, Emerald, Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton regions. Rockhampton Hospital will play an important role in achieving the objectives set out in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy. We will deliver expert care close to home by investing in a range of specialist services at Rockhampton Hospital for all Central Queenslanders.
About the role:
As a Senior Social Worker, you'll provide high-level clinical services as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast and Mt Morgan Business Unit (primarily based at Rockhampton Hospital).
You'll manage complex cases, deliver psychosocial assessments and therapy interventions, and evaluate high-quality social work services across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. In this leadership role, you will also guide and support less experienced practitioners, lead service improvements, and contribute to the ongoing development of evidence-based practice across the Allied Health team.
About you:
- Degree qualified in Social Work from a recognised tertiary institution and eligible for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Expertise across the full scope of social work practice, including assessment, advocacy and intervention across the continuum of care.
- Proven leadership in supervision, mentoring, and supporting effective social work practice.
- The ability to lead and evaluate quality and service improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- A commitment to professional learning, research and innovation that improves patient outcomes.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
