OPERATIONS MANAGER
Lead Operational Excellence in Adult Education with TAFE Queensland, Gold Coast
As Operations Manager you will drive operational excellence in the delivery of the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) programs by leveraging innovative business solutions to manage timetabling and resource allocation, ensuring financial viability and compliance with educational qualification outcomes. Working in close collaboration with educators and support staff, you will align operational processes with curriculum requirements and training schedules. Additionally, you will oversee the achievement of contractual revenue targets and key performance indicators for the SEE program, applying data driven insights to monitor performance, implement remedial actions and drive continuous improvement against negotiated benchmarks.
The position is primarily based at our Southport Campus and is a Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity to 26/06/2026 with possibility of extension.
About the Position - Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise innovative business solutions to manage educator timetabling activities for the faculty ensuring programs are financially viable, resourced effectively and adhere to educational qualification outcomes.
- Consult and negotiate with internal service providers on behalf of the faculty to ensure required business outcomes are met.
- Manage the achievement of key performance indicators relating to the faculty's contractual revenue sources.
- Analyse performance data against faculty program key performance indicators, to identify required remedial action and ensure targets are met.
- Lead key human resource management issues, including negotiation and development of teacher performance development plans, leave management, professional development and industry currency.
- Support the Director of Faculty in the general management and operations of the faculty including contributing to the development, planning and monitoring of the budget and the development and writing of responses to tender and sales opportunities.
- Manage educational processes on behalf of the faculty including award eligibility, packaging rules, graduation workbench and program registration.
- Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.
- Contribute to the success the faculty and the region's cultural transformation through promoting and modelling the established values of Showing Initiative, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility.
About You - Key Capabilities:
- Contribute to the development of plans, strategies and key performance indicators.
- Demonstrate capacity to analyse client needs, define goals and manage resources effectively to deliver high quality results within specified timeframes.
- Develop, lead, motivate and support work teams providing a range of services in an environment of change with an emphasis on best practice.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills, as evidenced by significant achievement in development of work practices that foster productivity.
- Display flexibility and responsiveness and demonstrate the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
Highly Desirable Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Education
- Post Graduate TESOL qualification
- Relevant experience in the SEE program and an understanding of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF)
