Your new role:

As the Pharmacy Educator within the Medical Education Unit (MEU), you'll coordinate, deliver, and evaluate innovative and evidence-based education programs focused on medication safety and management for prevocational doctors. You will collaborate closely with clinical and educational leaders to strengthen safe prescribing practices and integrate education with quality and safety initiatives by:

  • Designing and implementing engaging, interactive learning programs for interns and residents.
  • Leading initiatives that align with the Australian Medical Council's National Prevocational Framework.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on medication management across the hospital.
  • Collaborating with pharmacy and medical leadership to embed education into patient safety and quality improvement programs.
  • Translating research and evidence into practical learning to enhance safe medication use within a digital hospital environment (ieMR).

About you:

You are a passionate and forward-thinking pharmacist with a genuine interest in education, clinical excellence, and the safe use of medicines. You will bring a collaborative approach and high-level communication skills, together with:

  • Current registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A Bachelor of Pharmacy (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
  • Advanced knowledge in clinical pharmacy and quality use of medicines.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver education programs and training workshops.
  • Experience with ieMR and digital hospital medication systems.
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication, with the ability to engage diverse clinical teams.
