About us:

Sub-Acute Services (SAS) provides support to the Rehabilitation and Sub Acute Geriatric Evaluation Units at Rockhampton Hospital. These are specialised areas of care committed to restoring and maintaining the optimum level of function of the individual and significant others, enabling them to achieve their lifestyle goals.

The SAS oversees the referral management of Rehabilitative Services from Rockhampton Hospital, the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, community (GP) and other Hospital and Health Service organisations. The SAS facilitates outpatient clinics for rehabilitative services, i.e. Rehabilitation clinic, Geriatric clinic and Amputee clinic, Day Hospital Therapy Services and the Interdisciplinary Assessment Service.

About the role:

This position provides leadership which ensures the efficient and effective use of human and material resources within Sub-acute Services. This is a dynamic health environment, and this role will practice at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) – Registered Nurse Standards of Practice.

This position has an advanced level of professional and operational autonomous decision making in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for enacting strategies that support a positive work-based culture. The successful applicant will possess advanced problem-solving skills and critical thinking attributes that will assist in the application and evaluation of contemporary nursing practice and theory.

About you:

You will hold a Registered Nurse qualification with a registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,684 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
