About us:

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) provides specialised inpatient care to patients with cardiac disorders during the critical phase of their illness including management of invasive pressure monitoring, Inotropic and anti-arrhythmic drug infusions, non-invasive ventilation, temporary pacemaker insertion, blood pressure stabilisation and cardiac arrhythmias. This unit also provides phase 1 Cardiac Rehabilitation – heart health education, counselling and risk factor modification to CCU inpatients and 24-hour telemetry monitoring, coordination and documentation for up to 9 patients in the medical ward.

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides an early leadership role within the career pathway for nursing within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service and is responsible for a specific patient population and can function in more complex situations while providing support and direction to the Registered Nurse (RN), Enrolled Nurse (EN) and other non-registered nursing personnel. The CN follows defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe, practice and services and workplaces.

About you:

  • You will hold a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
  • A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma of Cardiac Nursing or equivalent is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
