West Moreton Health provides health and wellbeing services to more than 320,000 people across the Somerset, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and Ipswich communities. Its borders stretch to the north of Esk, west of Gatton, east of Ipswich and Springfield, and south of Boonah.
We provide preventative and primary healthcare services, ambulatory services, acute care, sub-acute care, and oral health, mental health and other specialised services, including prison and youth detention health services, and alcohol and other drugs services to the region. West Moreton is the fastest-growing region in Queensland in relative terms, with a population that is expected to almost double by 2046.
The role
We have an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and ambitious individual to join our Executive Team. As the Executive Director of Medicine and Ambulatory Services, you will lead the effective and efficient delivery of clinical care services across the Emergency Care, Rural Health, Medicine and Older Persons Services and the Specialty Medicine, Chronic Disease Management Services and Medical Imaging across West Moreton Health (WMH).
Leading a diverse workforce of approximately 1,100 FTE and managing a budget of $335 million, this position will play a crucial role in executing strategic initiatives aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of the region's growing population.
About you
As an experienced senior leader in the healthcare sector, you will be someone who demonstrates:
- Highly developed managerial proficiency, including the ability to apply financial, human and physical resource management and governance skills to ensure resources are optimally allocated in meeting defined goals.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by designing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and initiatives.
- Interpersonal savvy, manages conflict appropriately, communicates effectively and balances the needs of all stakeholders with utmost respect to all people at all times.
- Is patient focused, demonstrated self-awareness and the effects of behaviour on others, deal with or manages ambiguity and complexity, demonstrates resilience in the delivery of patient services.
- Cultivates innovation, is action oriented, drives results and supports WMH's vision and purpose to exceed expectations of our patients and stakeholders.
- Performance outcome orientated with the ability to translate strategic plans concepts into achievable implementation and outcomes.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to positively influence others in a significant environment of organisational transformation and performance accountability.
