Your new role:

As a Tradesperson – Water Technician, you will provide specialist technical support, advice, and maintenance services to ensure the safe operation and performance of water treatment systems across Metro South Health facilities. You'll work as part of a highly skilled trades team, contributing to the Total Quality Water Management Plan and supporting essential hospital plant and infrastructure.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality technical support for water system operations, treatment processes, and water quality management.
  • Perform planned and corrective maintenance across filtration systems, RO plants, softeners, dosing equipment, cooling towers, boilers, dialysis systems, and other water-related infrastructure.
  • Install, test, repair, commission, and fault-find complex control systems involving mechanical, electrical, electronic and fluid power principles.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance schedules for all water treatment equipment.

About you:

You are a skilled tradesperson with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-quality water management within a healthcare environment. You work safely, communicate effectively, and excel both independently and as part of a team.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in water testing, treatment, quality management, monitoring and reporting.
  • Ability to work with complex mechanical, electrical, electronic and fluid power systems.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret and implement standards, codes, procedures and procurement requirements.
  • Experience managing maintenance schedules, work prioritisation, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of relevant applications including S/4HANA, Riskman, MyHR, WHS Monitor and Microsoft Office.

Metro South Maintenance Services are the incumbent maintenance provider for Metro South Health Hospitals and Health Service (MSH) Facilities, with the primary objective to manage the corrective and preventative maintenance for all MSH infrastructure and facilities. Metro South's asset management objectives define the approach for delivering maintenance outcomes and the role of Maintenance management in supporting the achievement of the organisational objectives.
