Your new role:
In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality, accurate and timely morbidity coding while assisting with auditing, mentoring and coding education initiatives. You will work with the Coding Quality Coordinator to support data quality, coding standards and documentation improvement.
You will:
- Assign accurate ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes using relevant clinical systems and software
- Support auditing, data quality activities and coding accuracy initiatives
- Mentor and assist coding staff, support education sessions and contribute to competency programs
- Liaise with clinicians to clarify documentation and support improved clinical coding
- Maintain current knowledge of coding standards, Activity-Based Funding and industry changes
About you:
You are an experienced clinical coder with strong analytical skills, precision, and a commitment to data quality. You work collaboratively, communicate effectively and support continuous improvement within a coding team.
You will bring:
- Advanced skills in ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS clinical coding across multiple specialties
- Experience contributing to coding quality improvement and auditing activities
- Strong communication and liaison skills with clinicians and multidisciplinary staff
- Ability to prioritise workflows and meet coding deadlines with accuracy and consistency
- Proficiency with 3M Codefinder, ieMR, HBCIS and related clinical systems
