About us:
Gladstone Hospital is part of Central Queensland Health, delivering connected, culturally responsive and evidence-based care to our coastal community. Our Women and Newborn Unit brings together maternity, gynaecology, a neonatal nursery, antenatal services, Midwifery Group Practice and extended midwifery care - all shaped by teamwork, quality and the needs of local families.
About the role:
- Lead delivery of safe, high-quality midwifery and nursing care across the service.
- Provide advanced clinical leadership and expert decision-making.
- Coordinate daily operations, resource management and workforce capability.
- Implement quality, safety and risk frameworks to strengthen patient outcomes.
- Drive clinical governance, standards, guideline development and evaluation.
- Mentor midwives, support education programs and promote a culture of learning.
- Lead change initiatives and respond to emerging service needs.
- Collaborate across disciplines to achieve integrated, family-centred care.
About you:
- You hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife (and Registered Nurse).
- You bring advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking and sound judgement.
- You lead with respect, clarity and emotional intelligence.
- You build strong, collaborative teams and nurture positive workplace culture.
- You manage priorities with confidence and maintain high care standards.
- You embrace education, research and continuous improvement.
- You are committed to growing maternity services for the Gladstone community.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
