The Mental Health Service Group within Townsville Hospital and Health Service provides specialist mental health care across North Queensland. Our Disaster Recovery Team delivers recovery-focused services to individuals and communities impacted by disasters, ensuring access to high-quality, evidence-based care.

Competitive salary and benefits
- Salary between $5557.50 – $5798.90 per fortnight (HP5).
- 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary mental health team delivering disaster recovery services. This role combines strategic planning, operational leadership, and advanced clinical expertise to support individuals and communities impacted by disasters.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification and registration (e.g., Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Nursing).
- Advanced clinical knowledge and leadership experience in mental health.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and provide clinical governance.
- While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded.
- All employees of the Mental Health Service Group (MHSG) may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
- Current C class driver's licence.
- Evidence of vaccination for VPDs as per Queensland Health policy.
- A probationary period may apply.
