About us:
The Blood Borne Virus and Sexual Health Service within Rockhampton provides assessment, screening, diagnosis, and treatment as well as prevention education to the identified at risk population. The BBV (HIV and Hep C/B) Service provides medical and nursing care, treatment, support, and education for people living with BBV and their family/partner. The BBV&SH Service facilitates an integrated model of care with other health care providers and organisations.
About the role:
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is a senior level clinician and manager who is accountable at an advanced level for leading, directing and coordinating the nursing and associated services within a clinical unit to provide the highest level of care to patients and meeting national and professional standards.
- Lead a culture that supports critical thinking, empowering decision making and reflective practices.
- Promote an environment where all staff are supported to speak up for patient safety where open and transparent communication processes and habits are expected.
- Provide expert nursing consultation and participate in multidisciplinary decision-making forums to provide representation for nursing and the unit.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of contemporary and emerging evidence and trends that will guide the management and development of the unit.
About you:
Appointment to this position requires:
- Proof of qualification and registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated ability in leading a nursing team in a multidisciplinary environment utilising the principles of contemporary human, material, and financial resource management.
- High level knowledge of legislation, standards, policies, and procedures relevant to contemporary nursing practice and specific to area of practice.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $164,212.00 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
