About the opportunity
The Townsville University Hospital is a 700 plus bed hospital. There is a wide range of General Surgical procedures performed with Surgeons having subspecialty interests. Subspecialty referrals are received from other centres in North Queensland.
The hospital has an intensive care unit, radiology department with interventional capability and the full range of Surgical and Medical specialty groups.
Please note - There are four (4) temporary full-time roles available, up to 12 months.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $4966.90 - $5758.70 p.f. (L4-L9)
- 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
- Locality allowance
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
- Possession of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) qualifications (or equivalent).
- Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
- Accepted into recognised vocational college training program relevant to the speciality.
- If appointee is not accepted into a recognized vocational college training program – employment will only be as a Principal House Officer and remuneration will be at PHO Level per fortnight (L4-L7).
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis
