About the role
This position provides high level consultation, advice, support and leadership to the Prison Mental Health Service (PMHS) multidisciplinary team working with people in custody who have or are suspected of having a mental illness.
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, ongoing development, review and quality improvement of the mental health services provided by the PMHS team within the correctional environment.
The Clinical Coordinator will also provide direct clinical care, including triage of referrals, assessment, discharge planning and brief interventions, to people referred to the service. In addition, this position is expected to establish, foster and maintain relationships with a range of other government and non-government agencies, including the Prison Health Service (PHS) and Queensland Corrective Services in the ongoing care and treatment of persons with a mental illness.

HP4 – $128,169 – $137,918 per annum
NG7 – $136,538 – $148,242 per annum
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
