An opportunity has become available for a Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Clinical Governance Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
About the role
Provide medical leadership for the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS) in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Medical Services) and Directorate Clinical Directors. This is a critical role accountable for clinical governance within the health service.
Requirements for the role
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis screening.
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia and registrable as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- While not mandatory, Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (or evidence of significant progression towards) would be well regarded.
- Candidates with Fellowship of an appropriate Australian Specialist Medical College and hold specialist registration with AHPRA will be considered if they can demonstrate appropriate skills and experience.
- Candidates without Fellowship may also be considered if they can demonstrate appropriate skills and experience.
- Internationally trained candidates may require an acceptable Comparability Assessment undertaken by the appropriate Australian Specialist Medical College as part of the application process.
- Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Strong background in clinical governance.
- The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster for the Medical Services and Clinical Governance.
Salary information
- Permanent full time
- Senior Staff Specialist: Base salary from $259,072 - $274,678 p.a
- Staff Specialist: Base salary from $216,643 - $251,642 p.a
- Senior Medical Officer: Base salary from $187,569 - $216,643 p.a
- Senior Medical Officer - No Specialist Registration: $187,569 p.a
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
