About us:
Occupational Therapy promotes health and well-being through occupation. The primary goal is to enable people to participate in the activities of their everyday life. A major focus of occupational therapy roles is assisting consumers to maximise their health status by provision of assessment, intervention, health education and support services.
Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service offers a comprehensive occupational therapy service across the region to support patients through their hospital admission, recovery following discharge or when accessing other specialist outpatient services. Occupational Therapy team services include acute, sub-acute, ambulatory, paediatric and mental health services across the hospital and community facilities in Gladstone, Biloela, Emerald, Capricorn Coast, Mount Morgan, and Rockhampton regions.
About the role:
To provide high quality Occupational Therapy services and interventions as part of the Paediatric Service within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. This service provides hospital based paediatric inpatient and outpatient services, and transdisciplinary community-based outpatient clinics for developmental and behavioural interventions (under a Child Development Services framework) and occupational therapy-specific interventions.
Lead the occupational therapy service predominantly in the areas of Neonatal and Paediatrics, but with scope to input into Intensive Care, General Medicine, Out of Hospital Care, Surgical and Orthopaedic, Palliative Care, Cancer Care and Emergency Department Care as required. Clinical practice will be related to the assigned senior caseload but will also remain flexible to ensure the focus of service delivery remains on delivering patient centred and time appropriate care. Senior caseloads include the provision of services to acute, sub-acute and out of hospital/community care for each service area as required.
About you:
- The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate.
- Whilst not mandatory, post graduate qualifications in relevant practice area/s is highly desirable.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,113 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
