The Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (SMHRU) provides recovery-focused mental health care in a safe and secure environment, balancing safety with the least restrictive treatment options. The unit accommodates 25 consumers and offers a structured environment for rehabilitation.

Competitive salary and benefits

  • Salary between $2730.40 – $2897.80 per fortnight (Nurse Grade 3).
  • 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
  • Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence-based practice to support consumer recovery. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, person-centred care in a secure environment.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Diploma of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate. 
  • Evidence of vaccination against VPDs as per Queensland Health policy.
  • Ability to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • Current Class C driver licence.
  • A probationary period may apply.
