The role of Operations and Service Improvement Manager, DoSPS has responsibility for the operational work-stream as well as the allocation and delivery of organisation-wide strategic priority area(s). At least 25% of the role will be allocated to managing and delivering identified CHQ strategic priority areas. The appointment to specific Strategic Priority area (or areas) will be based on operational and strategic alignment and requirements.

About the Team
The Operational and Service Improvement Manager forms part of the multi-disciplinary DoSPS leadership team alongside the Divisional Director, Nursing Director and Chief of Surgery. With relevant delegation and professional authority, the leadership team is responsible for the management of the division as one of five divisions that make up the operational stream that report (through the Divisional Director) to the Chief Operating Officer.
About the Role
In this role you will create systems to sustain high quality delivery for children, young people and families (Leader of Leaders) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Provide strategic management, ethical decision making and leadership to the allocated Division with Queensland Health's policies, plans and service agreements and program operational/business plans.
- Support the Divisional Director to manage the financial, human and physical resources to optimise the allocated division's service outcomes and actively intervene to ensure expected achievement of outcomes are consistent with performance agreements.
- Provide highly specialised knowledge and skill in change management to facilitate the organisation structure, systems and processes to promote the provision of contemporary child health services which support the model of service delivery.
- Provide operational oversight to the paediatric health services provided via a range of program and service areas, including having an understanding of the structure of this service component and the service delivery models.
