The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurse Consultants (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver high level clinical services in accordance with professional code of ethics, The Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 and National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce
- Provide high level independent mental health services including high level evidence-based assessment, collaborative treatment planning and case management
- Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence, and apply relevant legislation
- Contribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols, for both the discipline and the multi-disciplinary team
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
- A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time or permanent part time (up to 76 hrs per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $136,538 - $148,242 per annum, $68.87 -$74.77 per hour

The Gold Coast Acute Community Mental Health services provide 24 hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care service. This includes: the first point of contact for the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service Mental Health Service to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. Telephone triage, crisis intervention, clinical assessment-in reach into emergency departments and community via Co-responder teams, screening admissions to public mental health inpatient services. Facilitating the most appropriate type of care for the consumer.
