About the role

This role supports the Finance Business Manager to provide financial performance related services for specific business areas across West Moreton Health (WMH) and can be rotated across different areas of the business periodically. This role supports financial leadership and provides advice and business analysis in matters relating to all financial, service costing, system development and funding models. This role also provides periodic financial management and performance reporting support by negotiating, managing, and maintaining the budgetary, activity and financial plan for these services to maximise the ability to deliver services within the funding constraints approved by Queensland Health.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Expert knowledge for preparing and monitoring cost centre budgets in a complex
  • Proven high level ability to identify financial risk and lead and influence problem resolution and process
  • High level organisational skills with the ability to manage a heavy workload, with competing priorities to meet
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and negotiation and influencing skills to ensure effective financial management.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • While not mandatory, the following would be considered highly desirable:
    • Possession of a relevant qualification from a registered tertiary institution and/or experience in Business, Commerce, Accounting or other relevant discipline including CPA/CA.
    • Experience with Queensland Health finance systems and procedures, or Queensland Government finance experience.
