About your opportunity:
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse- Mental Health is to provide clinical expertise, support, and education to nursing staff within the unit to ensure best practice and quality patient care to patients of all ages and cultural groups presenting with Mental Health concerns.
The Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department (ED) provides treatment to approximately 80 000 patients per calendar year. The type of treatment varies according to the presenting complaint of the patient. The priority of treatment is indicated according to the triage category allocated to the patient on their arrival at ED.
Please note - This is a fixed term temporary full-time role, up to 03/05/2026.

- Salary range: $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Role Requirements:
- Mandatory qualification (Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the role) and registration with AHPRA.
- Adult and Paediatric Basic Life Support Certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Adult and Paediatric Basic Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment procedure.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including criminal history clearance.
