Clinical Education and Research (CER) plays a pivotal role in building nursing and midwifery workforce capability across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. It delivers high‑quality, accessible education and professional development through a range of programs, including graduate nurse and midwife education, undergraduate support via the Clinical Partnership Program, scope of practice development, digital learning, occupational violence prevention, continuing professional development, and research.
The Clinical Simulation Centre is a core component of CER, providing immersive, experiential learning that enhances clinical skills, fosters interprofessional collaboration, and supports safe, high‑quality patient care.

Competitive salary and benefits:

- Salary range: $132,562 to $143,924 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity
The Nurse Manager, Clinical Simulation Centre, is an advanced practice role responsible for leading the design, implementation, and delivery of clinical compliance and innovative training programs using simulation and immersive learning. Operating within an interprofessional, organisation‑wide education framework, the position oversees a specialist team focused on enhancing patient safety, reducing adverse events, and promoting effective, team‑based care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with AHPRA.
- This position may be required to travel to (via small planes or ferry), and work at, other facilities located within the Townsville HHS.
Highly desirable
Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field.
