The position of Support Services Officer will: • Provide timely, safe, and appropriate cleaning, linen services, food services, grounds maintenance and waste management for Child and Youth Community Health Services at the Ellen Barron Family Centre and the Child Health community clinics. • Assist nursing staff as necessary with all aspects of Support Services. • Deliver a high level of customer service, demonstrating understanding, empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.

About the Team
The Ellen Barron Family Centre (EBFC) is a residential facility providing services for early parenting support, through Parenting Education Programs. The Centre provides a service for well families with children aged birth to 3 years engaged with a primary care service provider or agency. EBFC specialises in providing child and family health information, education, strategies and support in a multidisciplinary environment, with discharge planning aimed at linking families back into local resources within their own community.
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Undertake general and periodic cleaning of all clinical and non-clinical areas within EBFC and may involve the cleaning of the Child Health community clinics, ensuring tasks are performed in accordance with CHQ procedures and standards, Infection Control Guidelines and the Strategic Operational Services Unit (SOSU).
- Provide high level support to clients within and external to EBFC in all areas of cleaning, food services, linen services, waste management and grounds maintenance as required.
- Work professionally and respectfully within the multidisciplinary team to complete tasks efficiently and effectively, supporting patient-centred care.
- Undertake specific tasks within the facility, which may include, but are not limited to, cleaning and making beds, and removing and replacing curtains.
