Your new role:
As a Registered Nurse in Cancer Care, you will provide safe, high-quality, and compassionate nursing care within our Cancer Services division. Working collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health teams, you will support patients across the cancer care continuum while contributing to best practice outcomes. This casual role provides flexibility to cover planned and unplanned leave, short-term contracts, and individual shifts, with strong educational and clinical support from the Cancer Services team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary team
- Supporting patients receiving medical, surgical, and radiotherapy cancer treatments
- Maintaining clinical competence in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (with ongoing support and education)
- Using sound clinical judgement, critical thinking, and time management to prioritise care in a dynamic environment

About us:
The Division of Cancer Services at Princess Alexandra Hospital is a highly developed, multidisciplinary cancer service in one of Australia's largest teaching hospitals. The hospital provides a comprehensive adult cancer service encompassing haematological, surgical, and medical and radiation oncology specialties, including immunotherapy, cell therapy, and cancer vaccines and autologous stem cell transplantation. Cancer Services are the state referral centre for some rare malignancies and provides highly specialised care for Melanoma, Upper Gastrointestinal, Germ Cell, Sarcoma, High Grade Lymphoma and Acute Leukaemia. This care is supported by the Stem Cell Program and Car T cell treatment.
Casual nurses will be able supported to work at specific locations if requested. Please specify your preference in your application so we can factor this into our onboarding process.
