What you'll do  

  • Lead and manage a team of business, application, and technical specialists providing operational support to the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR), Digital Primary Healthcare, and a range of other clinically critical systems, applications and infrastructure.
  • Proactively create and manage service level agreements, operating level agreements and underpinning contracts with service providers to deliver agreed services to customers.
  • Manage the ongoing strategic and operational performance of the unit by developing, implementing and maintaining strategic, workforce and operational business plans.
  • Manage the unit's budget, including developing and implementing funding strategies and budget submissions to enable the effective delivery and operation of the ieMR, Digital Primary Healthcare and supported systems and applications.
  • Oversee the introduction of changes to production, as a result of improvement activities
  • Work collaboratively with customers in managing and understanding respective service requirements, and ensure that service levels remain aligned to changing business needs and evolving delivery capabilities.
  • Manage all aspects of the systems development lifecycle as it pertains to interfaces between applications and services to ensure high quality and timely introduction of new capability into the Queensland Health environment
  • Proactively maintain and manage enterprise applications and dedicated infrastructure for the designated portfolios in accordance with designated policies, standards and practices.
  • Proactively engage with projects in the delivery, integration, testing and optimisation of the ieMR, Digital Primary Healthcare and other supported systems and applications.

About you  

We are searching for someone who has:  

  • Understanding of and high-level ability to apply contemporary leadership principles to develop and maintain an effective and motivated highly skilled application support team
  • Well-developed management and supervisory skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate and achieve agreed service levels as defined in formal service level agreements with customers.
  • Proven high level of interpersonal, negotiation, consultation and communication skills appropriate to an environment of change and evolution
  • Extensive experience and proven ability to develop implement and evaluate strategic, workforce and business plans which reflect commitment to customer service delivery and meet performance targets and priorities
  • Evidence of innovative approaches to optimising service delivery and leading change in a large, complex and distributed organisation.
