About us:
This position has a Hospital and Health Service wide responsibility for Intern and Junior Medical Officer training and education. The Director of Clinical Training will initially be located in Rockhampton and may be reasonably required to perform their duties at other locations within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) following consultation with the Medical Officer.
About the role:
The Directors of Clinical Training (DCTs):
- Provide leadership for Medical Education across CQHHS.
- Oversees the organisation of education, training, supervision and assessment of pre-vocational training doctors, which incorporates interns (Post Graduate Year 1 – PGY 1) and Junior House Officers (JHOs / PGY2 doctors) and International Medical Graduates (IMGs) at these levels.
- Provide leadership for the Medical Education Unit within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
- Are actively involved in developing the future medical workforce for Central Queensland both within the Hospital and Health service but also in the communities we serve.
About you:
- The applicant must be registered as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- The applicant must hold specialist registration and should have held registration with the AHPRA for at least three (3) years.
- Participation in professional development activities relevant to the DCT role is required. Appropriate activities will generally be endorsed and communicated to DCT from a State-wide level.
- Postgraduate adult education-related qualifications and experience of adult learning principles are highly desirable.

Salary information:
- An hourly rate between $89.86 - $124.12 p.h. (L13-L25)
- An hourly rate between $103.80 - $131.60 p.h. (L18-L27)
