Role details

The Day Procedure Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Ward Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

Respond to enquiries and provide information and assistance to staff, patients and visitors to facilitate effective service delivery within a hospital setting. Contribute to patient flow by performing a support role to nursing and medical staff, coordinating all patient movements.

Provide high level and confidential secretarial and administrative support to ensure the Nurse Unit Manager and Surgical Team deliver on delegated accountabilities within a demanding operating environment.

About the Team

Day Procedure Unit provides high-quality patient centred service along the surgical continuum from preadmission to post discharge phone call, through staff and patient education, multidisciplinary consultation, community engagement, feedback, and innovation, within allocated financial resources. Day Procedure Unit includes preadmission clinic, day of surgery admissions, second stage “day only” recovery, extended day surgery and endoscopy.
