Your new role:
As a Nurse Practitioner Candidate (NPC) in the Cancer Rapid Assessment Unit, you'll advance your clinical skills and knowledge while undertaking a Nurse Practitioner Master's program. You'll work under the direct supervision of a medical officer or nurse practitioner, providing expert, patient-centred care and participating in multidisciplinary team collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop advanced clinical practice skills under supervision to provide high-quality cancer care.
- Contribute to patient assessments, care plans, and cancer-specific interventions.
- Participate in education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver innovative, evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes.
About you:
We're looking for someone passionate about cancer care and ready to develop their advanced nursing practice under mentorship. In this role, you'll will:
- Demonstrate the ability to manage cancer patients, assess their needs, and contribute to effective care plans.
- Work well with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical leadership and contribute to service improvements and quality care initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing learning, research, and professional development to enhance patient care practices.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
