About the role
Deliver high quality clinical care, community engagement and harm minimisation services to individuals, families and groups across the region. This role combines direct client work, outreach, education and program development, offering a diverse and rewarding opportunity to support healthier outcomes for communities throughout North West Queensland.
- Provide comprehensive assessment, counselling, treatment and support services using evidence based AOD practice with a strong harm minimisation focus.
- Maintain a clinical caseload, ensuring accurate, medico legally sound documentation and high quality client care.
- Participate in the provision of outreach services and travel to communities as sole practitioner in accordance with operational needs.
Working with us
- Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.
- Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.
- Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.
- Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.

Requirements
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check; from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
