Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse – Child Protection Liaison Officer, you will deliver advanced, trauma-informed nursing care to children and families experiencing harm or risk of harm. Working autonomously within a multidisciplinary framework, you will provide clinical leadership, coordinate complex care, and support statutory and forensic processes across acute and community settings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert clinical care and coordination for children experiencing abuse or neglect
- Leading risk assessment, care planning, and statutory child protection responses
- Supporting forensic medical examinations and complex case reviews
- Educating and advising clinicians on child protection legislation and mandatory reporting
About you:
About You
You are a confident senior nurse with strong clinical judgement and the emotional intelligence to navigate highly sensitive situations. You balance compassion with accountability and are comfortable leading practice in complex, high-risk environments.
You bring:
- Advanced clinical experience in child protection, forensic, paediatric, or complex care settings
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and interagency collaboration
- Proven ability to lead, educate, and support multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Exceptional communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.
We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.
