An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Carer Peer Coordinator to join our Lived Experience Team. A Senior Carer Peer Coordinator works to facilitate the delivery, development and planning of support services to consumers of the mental health service. A Senior Carer Peer Coordinator promotes and provides guidance to the development and ongoing management of consumer participation and provide systems advocacy in relation to consumer, carer and family related issues.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Day to day line management of the Carer/Peer Workers and Advanced Carer/Peer Workers in community setting roles, if required.
- May assist with and/or provide professional supervision of Carer/Peer Workers and Advanced Carer/Peer Workers.
- Serve as a positive role model to consumers, carers and staff and as a source of information on their experience of managing their mental health.
- Work within appropriate boundaries and draw on knowledge and expertise gained through reflection on own lived experience.
- Effectively communicate with consumers, carers, professional groups, and all service providers to assist in planning, delivering and evaluating a mental health consumer focused service.
Remuneration value up to $65 526 p.a, comprising salary rates $53.24 - $57.92 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO5) (part time position, 38 hrs p.f.).
