  • Salary range: $75,090 to $103,261 p.a. (HWF3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity

The Health Worker (HW) is required to support and deliver high quality, coordinated and culturally safe health care to cardiac clients as part of the RHD team including cardiac outreach and in reach services. The HW will work with the Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Clinical Nurse Consultant focusing on health promotion, prevention, and early intervention of Acute Rheumatic Fever and RHD primarily in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in consultation with clinical support and delegation provided by a Registered Nurse.

Requirements:

  • Under 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
  • Current registration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Health Practice Board, including a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice is mandatory.
  • Applicants who do not hold the mandatory qualification requirements, but believe they have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role as outlined, and will commit to completing the qualification(s) within an agreed timeframe if appointed, are encouraged to apply for this vacancy. Should the applicant be successful, employment will be at the no qualification paypoint until evidence of completion of the required qualification(s) is provided.
