About the role
The Registrar/ Principal House Officer (PHO) provides medical services under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrist that are evidence-based, efficient, effective and equitable to consumers within a public health setting. Registrar/ PHOs are expected to acquire necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Australian Medical Board requirements in order to practice as a specialist. This program has strong links with the University of Queensland, Ipswich Clinical School.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Principal House Officer
- Knowledge, expertise and skill in the assessment and clinical management of people with mental illness.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organisational skills including the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education including development and maintenance of personal knowledge and skills.
- Registrar
- Advanced clinical skills in general medicine.
- Provides patient care by demonstrating qualities of maturity, empathy and time management as well as communicating soundly with patients.
- Develops own learning experience by seeking out opportunities to learn, attending learning programs and teaching others.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
