Your new role:
As the Administration Manager for the Metro South Public Health Unit (MSPHU), you will lead a high performing administrative team and ensure robust systems, processes, and support structures are in place to enable effective public health service delivery.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, manage, and support a team of AO3 Administration Support Officers and a Data Officer, ensuring efficient workflows and high quality service delivery.
- Oversee day to day administrative operations, including workload prioritisation, correspondence management, HR processes, and financial responsibilities such as credit card and petty cash reconciliation.
- Provide high level administrative support across specialised public health regulatory areas, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and reporting requirements.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, contribute to business planning, and support the Director MSPHU with projects, reporting, and operational activities.
This is a temporary part‑time position (2 days per week – Thursday and Friday), working in a job‑share arrangement until January 2027.
About you:
You are an experienced administrative leader who thrives in dynamic, multidisciplinary environments and brings a proactive, solutions focused approach to supporting public health services.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading administration teams in a complex health or regulatory environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and support staff development.
- Highly developed communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and continuous improvement capabilities, with a track record of enhancing workflows, systems, and team performance.
- Sound knowledge (or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge) of public health legislation, HR frameworks, WHS, risk management, procurement, and Queensland Health systems such as Riskman, MyHR, and S4HANA.
