An exciting opportunity exists for a Chief Operating Officer to join the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the Health Service Chief Executive and will provide strategic leadership and be accountable for the day-to-day delivery of operational excellence in clinical and clinical support services of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, aligned with the strategic directions of the health service. 

The Chief Operating Officer will be an experienced leader of transformational change, skilled in building and sustaining partnerships with a focus on continuous improvement to assure high reliability care. A key accountability of the role is to lead the continuous improvement of clinical services, clinical support services and business models, including driving significant organisational change and redesign to optimise performance, accountability, deliver integrated models of care, optimise resource allocation, promote innovation and service synergies.

Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide executive leadership, actively promote the organisational culture and values and build a workforce committed to continuous improvement and wellbeing.
  • Provide expert advice and thought leadership regarding clinical service provision, outcomes and strategy to the Executive Leadership Team, Health Service Chief Executive and the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service
  • Articulate a compelling vision and define and implement strategies to address SCHHS's key priorities, targets, and broader health agenda.
  • Lead facility and service management to systematically review services and oversee changes that respond to local, state, and national health agendas.

Remuneration value up to $332 191 p.a. (HES3). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
